This has been a very stressful and emotionally draining year for me so far, full of plenty of downs and not too many ups! As a result, I have been very inconsistent with my yoga practice and clean eating habits. I … Continue reading
After a rough couple of months, The Lotus Blossom Shop is up and running! I have been making gemstone bracelets in between working on my PhD and getting over life’s little (sometimes giant) speed bumps.
I have been dreaming of this day ever since I was a little girl who spent her summers working on projects, such as cake decorating and ornament making. Those summer projects grew into handmade Christmas gifts every year which developed into the idea of using my talents to make things I wanted to buy but couldn’t afford. This brings me to how I started making bracelets. I recently started practicing yoga (LOVE LOVE LOVE IT) and became fascinated by its healing properties. I suffer from a lack of patience, or as some would call it anxiety, and found that yoga really helped calm me down (among other things). Being a researcher, I can’t just stop there I had to read more about these healing powers! That’s when I came across the Chakras. Chakras are energy centers in our body that govern various parts of our body. When these energy centers become blocked or over-active then an imbalance occurs. An imbalance can cause an alteration in your healthy and well-being. I am not an expert in this field but can recommend some great books/resources if you are interested in learning more.
Where am I going with this…Gemstones are capable of altering the dysfunction of the chakras and bringing balance back to your energy channels along with many other healing powers (Great resource). It doesn’t hurt that gemstones make great fashion accessories!
So with my love of yoga and of gemstones, I decided to create my own bracelets! With each bracelet I have including information on the corresponding chakras and other healing powers associated with the gemstones selected. Most bracelets come adorned with a charm and accent beads.
